Hello. I have a spare gfx lying aroung and i have seen a PCI to AGP adapter somewhere in the USA. are there any other ways of hooking up another AGP card or does anyone know of a place in the UK where a PCI to AGP converter can be bought. Thx for the help
Are you sure it is not an AGP to PCI adapter? This would make more sense as AGP is much faster than PCI...
well i think it is, not 100%, cant find site again. bsically i have got a good gfx in the AGP slot and want to somehow hook up another AGP card, just for running another monitor, otherwise ill run both off the same gfx. Thx
Ok, apparently there's at least one PCI->AGP converter, but the graphics card would have jack for bandwidth, plus you need to find a low-profile card. My guess is that this converter is either ridiculously expensive or impossible to find. Meanwhile, PCI GFX cards are cheap.
Why not buy a PCI card? I assume it's because you have an AGP card laying around, but... http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=714223/ut=449a124e5784fb50 (that was a random pick) You'd spend that much at LEAST on a converter, and then you wouldn't be able to close your case (more than likely the converter would make your card stick out beyond your case cover) Just my opinion Regards
