"If you were to poll users on why they do not water cool their PC, you’d probably get one of two answers: Risk and cost. While the former justification holds merit, the latter is shrouded in myth. No one will argue that running a water cooled system has inherent risks associated with it, since water and electricity obviously are dangerous bedfellows. However, when it comes to the price factor, most people immediately see the "high" cost of water cooling kits, compare it to their single heat sink and fan combination, and dismiss the water cooling kit as too expensive. What the majority of the community fails to consider is the overall cost of performance air cooling versus water cooling. Take a quality heatsink and fan, 4 to 6 additional case fans, a power supply upgrade (in some cases), and the overall cost of an air cooling system comes very close to, or even surpasses, the cost of a water cooling kit. Do-it-yourself water cooling can be a fairly inexpensive purchase, but a water cooling novice might feel inundated with technical details on water block and radiator characteristics, fitting sizes and such. Ahanix, distributors of the popular Noblesse server case, veer from their trusted line of economical computer cases to another affordable solution, the Iceberg 1 Water Cooling System. Today in the MTB Labs, we’ll put this entry-level water cooling kit to the test and see how it well it fairs."
