try blazin' angels. there's a sequel as well. I'm not sure if the ace combat series are on PC but I've heard they are good. btw, blazin angels is acadey whereas ace combat is more realistic
hi Frank, depends how realistic you want it ... something like http://www.thirdwire.com/projects.htm strike a reeasonable balance between realism & fun. If you want to veer more towards realistic systems sims for modern jets then something like Falcon 4 Allied Force. For WWII then http://www.ubi.com/UK/Games/Info.aspx?pId=5263 is the benchmark for most people.
There's been a real drought of flight combat games recently, IL-2 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Il_2_sturmovik_(game) ) and Sequels for World War 2 and LOMAC ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lock_On:_Modern_Air_Combat ) for more modern stuff. FSX ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Flight_Simulator_X ) is good for flying, but lacks the combat aspect, sadly the last Microsoft Combat Flight Sim (CFS3 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combat_Flight_Simulator_3:_Battle_for_Europe ) was a bit rubbish Jet Thunder ( http://www.thunder-works.com/news.htm ) is in the works, based on the British-Argentine Falklands War, not sure of a release date, sometime next year though probably. http://www.avsim.com/ http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds/main/menuchoo.htm ^^ Geared towards more Civil aviation through FSX might be worth looking at though WIthout knowing what joystick you have those forums should help you with it if you get serious, also multiply monitors and TrackIR aswell -> http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/
tks to all who replied. just got back from supper. by the way LeMaltor i've got a logitech freedom 2.4 cordless joystick. going to visit all the places suggested. have a good evening. frank.
IL2 is great, cheap too. I used to play Combat Flight Sim a lot with a clan at www.raf662.com - it's a combat flight sim group, might be worth a nose for you.
