    Finally finished my YY Cube and I call it...

    ::alien|qbe::

    ...mainly because of my alien & giger-inspired paintjob which took quite a while to complete as you might imagine while looking at the pics. Let me know what you think, ok?

    basically it's just a "normal" paint job:
    I sanded the case, grounded it, spent some time with pen and paper, drawing 28 concept-sheets and deciding on what I like most, did some rough marker-sketches on the case (don't use a normal pencil, because it makes the colour peel off), grabbed my airbrush and started working it out.
    Took me 6 1/2 weeks and a lot of frustration, but looking at it now it was worth it ;) I don't recommend this if you don't have A LOT of practice with airbrushing and drawing tho...
    If you need any tips on airbrushing when you do your next case just let me know...

    ahh right ...... that makes it an even nicer m0d job ..... bloody hell your one mean artist...

    Wish I could airbrush like that ... oh well ...

    might have to find some other method :/

    thanks! :)

    well, actually airbrushing is not THAT difficult. maybe I could make up an article or two on that topic if some may wish that...

    I think the most important and also difficult part is the concept - if you've got a good concept and if you're really into it, the painting itself is not THAT hard.

    Get a gold plated grill for the top and get a alu filter for the front - that would be sweeeet!

    hmmmmmm... guess I'll try golden rallye spraypaint and high gloss finish - if I mess it up I'll order one at tekheads next time I order more (it's quite unfeasable ordering one grill, since the shipping costs are twice as high as the costs for the grill :))

    Yeah - I talked to Koolvin about Tutorials and there'll probably be some. I unfortunately don't have an own Digital Camera right now, so you'll have to wait 'til I have mine.
