i have found this http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/product.php?productid=4852&cat=194&page=1 a quad-core cpu from AMD does it work on any skt AM2 mobo?
check your motherboard vendor website latest bios update for my one adds phenom support http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=M2N32-SLI Deluxe
thanks for the fast reply im not good with BIOS http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/product.php?productid=3713&cat=356&page=1 thats my mobo and i dno how to read it of the board it says rev 1.09g or somthing like that lol
http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us ^^ Bios update for the Asus crosshair boards, to support Phenom core.
I'd be interested how you get on Not entirely sure myself if two extra cores are better than the significant clockspeed slowdown, i may just wait for 2.8ghz phenoms before thinking of upgrading myself
Thanks for that information maybe I won't give my AMD cpu the flick for Intel after all!! I got a Crosshair M/B
I'm holding out for them to re release the 9700 phenom (2.4), i think it was recalled because of a bug in it or sumthin. but its been clocked to 3ghz in a review on air cooling already. i think it comes out in a month.
sounds nice http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/product.php?productid=4854&cat=768&page=1 that the one you want? its out of stock atm thoe
Phenom have some problem with BIOS some bug, and when AMD fix it performance fall down for 14%, AMD still do bad job with CPU but ATi......
The bug rarely presents itself - I've run a whole host of benchmarking stuff on a B2 stepping which has the error and no BIOS fix and it's been perfectly stable.
However INTEls 4core CPUs will be much better than Phenom, faster and they shouldn't warm as Phenom. No offense ppl.
