    Hi all,

A colleague at work has unfortunately broken their screen on their mobile, and wants to transfer to a new phone via smart switch, but can't click on the relevant button ls as only a third of the screen is working (and unfortunately it's the wrong third). He's already tried connecting an external monitor (which was new to me) but it doesn't mirror the screen.

Is there a simple alternative way of transferring things? Thanks for any replies!

I've recently been through similar here, unfortunately the phone wasn't compatible with any of the options listed.

Can you just turn it upside down, or sideways to use auto rotate to access the button, or is it one of those annoying pages that refuses to change orientation?

Your friend might have to connect the phone to a PC & use ADB to do things the hard way.

Can your colleague not restore from a backup? Most Android phones default to having the Google One backup option enabled as default.
