Another duel monitor question

I am planing on setting up duel monitors tomorrow, and was wondering if someone could tell me how to set them up to run individually from each other? would this be an option in the display settings? or would i have to get more involved?

 

You mean how to make them two seperate desktops? You can control that through the Display Properties section of Desktop Properties, or use a program like Ultramon to have more control over the desktops.

seriously though, windows can just sort itself out when youre using dual monitors
for example with 1024x768 res on both of them, it uses a single desktop with res of 2048x768, and is split between the two.

ultramon is great though, and highly recommended even if its only for the smart taskbar (each monitor has its own taskbar, rather than just the main one like windows does it)

if you mean that each monitor has its own start menu etc, that isnt do-able (but you can have some shortcuts on one and some on the other)

 

My 6600GT has all the ultramon features built-in the drivers

 

Hi guys, got my duel monitors setup today at last but i can only get them to mirror each other anyone know how to sort this out?

Have you made sure that "extend my desktop on to this monitor" option has been selected on the monitor you want to extend to?

 

yeah thats done, i also have ultramon but still cant work it out
