Christmas is coming and the geese are getting fat... or something.

I'm looking for a new monitor and just wondered if the resident experts could help with a shortlist. I would like an IPS screen, 24 inch, as an upgrade to my 22 inch Samsung 2232BW. I do photo work as a hobby, and very rarely play games any more. Essentially I would like more reliable colours...

Now I know the Dell scores very highly here, but is probably a bit too expensive. I was hoping to go to a maximum of £300. I would be grateful for the forum's wisdom and words of advice...

    Thanks!!!

    Simon

LG IPS231P-BN. You could buy 2 for your budget.

The U2412M fits inside your budget comfortably, and as a hobbyist photographer you will not notice any difference between it and the U2410 which is a lot more expensive and not really necessary.

The LG IPS231 monitors are nice but unlike the Dell 24"s they have the 16:9 aspect ratio so you might find that you miss the height of 16:10, as many people do.

    Thanks for the advice team!

I must admit I am quite tempted by the U2412M, especially since I'm not a pro photographer. I think the monitor will be a present and I don't want to ask the givers to spend too much, so £270 is probably just about reasonable.

I'll have a look at the LG too just to get an idea.

If I find a bit of money myself and various other things fall into place, I may well get in touch with you Yeoo!
