This card will come out in the next few days with the 7900GT and 7900GTX, if its cheap enough it could make a good buy.

GDDR3??.....interesting. could be a 16pipe card. prob related closer to the 7800series than the 7900 but it could well be a brilliant bargain, well better than the 6800gs atleast.

Apparently "as good as" a 6800GT. Does better in some tests, worse in others. Cant remember pipe details, but it's a 256bit interface with a ~1.5GHz mem clock and fast core clock. I'd guess it's a 12piper then, otherwise it would kill the 6800GT which is 16pipe but only 350/1000.

    5700 is a decent score on 05, especially with a 3000 cpu

I hope the review sites also have this one to test :D

If it's around the £100 mark it maybe the card I will go for as I don't really want to spend £200 + on a GFX and I was happy with my 6800@Ultra anyway.

Tomorrow should be very interesting :thumb:

If its not better than a 6800gt? then whats the point? I think I will save for a 7800gt as jumps between them is not enough and the 7800gts are around the 200mark now.

Looks like it's only 128bit, 12pipe, 560/1400. Compared to the X1800GTO which will be 256bit, 16pipe it cant keep up. Looks like we're gonna be waiting for a 7800GS on 256bit/16(crippled) or 20pipe and a lowish clock to keep up with that.

Excellent, I would consider buying one very seriously because I currently have a 3000+ and I think my 6600GT could do with a nice upgrade. Might also need a PCI-E mobo though...

I should think they are probably trying to phase out production of 6XXX cards, most likely newer manufacturing techniques/optomized designs have allowed them to produce cards that are similarly powerfull but at a lower cost, plus didn't the video features supposed to reduce CPU load not actually work on the 6800's ? (making 7xxx series a little more attractive)

the 7600s are not only FAB'd on smaller tech but have only 128bit mem which makes the die far smaller so it's far cheaper to make than the 6800 equivilent.
