The orange in the sleeving indeed is way more bright than the orange UV plexiglass. I have orange plexiglass that is also bright orange, but it is not UV plexi. Should I remove the orange wires and just go with black and white in the sleeving? Hi Mark, the covers are made using 1 mm thick aluminium that has a brushed blask finish. I think it is annodised. A C Ryan used to sell this. Then the logos were engraved in it using a laser cutter / engraver. I hope this helps.
Have to agree, the orange looks out of place - but then again, if you go only black/white, it might blend in with the background too much? Other than that, this mods looks really good. It has a certain "Lego Blacktron" feel to it - a color combination that i think looks really cool!
Antec P380 CeBIT 2015 - march 9th 2015 Yes i thought so, just wanted to be sure ;-) thanks man, about the sleeving, i would remove orange and use a neutral colour like grey which will looks good with black and white combo
Thanks again for the comments guys! Right now I remade the stock Antec PCI-E cables. Shortened them to fit exactly and made it so each connector on the PSU leads to 1 connector on the GPU. No splits wires. All omnomnomnom I am going to sleeve these now. They all need to be done before I mount the PSU cover and all its tubing connected to it. Then I cannot reach anything anymore.
Maybe go with white as the main colour and then with a few black wires in between? Your motherboard is white aswell, so I'd reckon it'd fit really nice together with the motherboard
I have been thinking about it. But time is reeeeeally short and I hope when the UV lights are on the difference will be less there. I don't know. Time currently is the big problem. Only a few more days left.
Nice work mate GPU wiring reminds me on my arc mini Can you keep anything of this mod after the CeBit ? (PN is ok)
I have a hole in the midplate for the cables. Running them straight up will save me so much wire cluster. The project will travel with Antec from show to show to LAN party to LAN party for about 18 months. After this it will return to me. So yeah I get to keep it, but only after a long period. What is left of it that is hahaha. At these shows people steal like crazy, maybe I will get an empty case with a puddle of coolant in it xD
Whatever is left in 18 Month, it will be worth the wait and stress at the moment. Gratulations to that. even if it´s stripped out and smacked, a couple of fans and radiators will hopefully be left
Thanks buddy. TBH I am really for the ride here now of having something I created on display at CeBIT on the Antec booth. I can't wait to see it on display with people looking at it. In the end the hardware will be re-usable for another project or sold to fund part of another project. But that is after Antec has had a lot of fun with it and has taken it around Germany for promoting purposes.
The loop is finished. Time for leaktesting. I also added various extra details such as the orange 2nd layer snake head, the MSI dragonheads on the backplates, the Antec P380 decal, etc. I feel like it is all coming together now. It is minutes to midnight now. Tomorrow it will be in the car with me going to Hannover. Going to leaktest now and finish up on some small things.
Thank you for your kind words ------------------------------------------------------------------ I took a few photos of the finished product with its UV lighting on. The coolant has only a tiny bit of blue in it (dye) but a lot of transparent UV dye. It kind of makes it look like the system is filled with ghosts smile-emoticon Now some sleep, tomorrow packing it and driving to Hannover. Goodnight!
Thanks man! And yeah I did The Antec crew was super friendly! Me and my buddy Jens. Better photos next week. They promissed to make some.
