Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Good grief - this is the bad old days of Steam! How the hell could they so badly underestimate demand?!

Mine installed perfectly fine first time and did it from the discs.

I'm really enjoying it so far, haven't done much the last 3 days :)

How the bl**dy hell did you manage that? A legit running copy with not a trace of steam in sight! What the hell do they force you to install it via steam for then if steam clearly isn't needed based on what you posted.

And to be honest I've stopped buying all PC games that require steam/activation because it p*sses me off bigtime that the same games on XBOX 360/PS3 need no activation and they just work straight away from the disc, none of this activation/steam b*llocks.

I do still play and pay for PC Games, I just avoid or try to (unless someone buys me them) ones that need activating because as far as I'm concerned I paid for the bl**dy game and shouldn't have to go through all the activation crap just because of some dirty pirate scum! I don't pay upwards of £29.99 per game to have such difficulty getting games to actually work as they should when the dirty pirate scum get to play the same games with no issues whatsoever and they don't even need to activate games that apparently need activating in the 1st place!

I say scrap this activation crap and let us buy a game and simply install it likei n the good old days! It's as simple as this if the game we buy comes with a legit cdkey then by all means VERIFY THE cdkey online via some website or other or even just a CDKEY verifier released by the makes of said games, then let us go about our business, as for the dirty pirate scum it's obvious they will NEVER have a legit key (unless they get it from a retail release, then it's only a matter of time before it's plastered all over the web and then promptly blacklisted) so real genuine people who actually buy the game shouldn't/wouldn't have to go through all the crap they do because of pirates.
