I'm looking to buy some kit and have been looking at the german suppliers as they seem cheaper than uk. www.aquacomputer.de seems to have some nice kit and the are making a fuss over this plug&cool system.

Does it work? Has anyone found any reviews in english? how good is the kit anyway?

I'm fairly sold on this kit. The prices aren't too bad either. I'm just working out the logistics of fitting it in or around a GW802

Risky - the plug&cool™ connectors are basically high-pressure compression fittings like you get for industrial airline applications.

Maxxpert are using something similar for their system, but it's plastic bodied where these are metal. See here

Hmm, is it possible to bend those tubes into shape say by filling them with sand and heat with a heatgun and twist around a round objekt? I'm not too keen on using a lot of their 90 degree bends since the space is extremely limited... ;)

Oh, I only saw GW802 mentioned.

    Mashie - can't say I've tried.... :eyebrow: :D

BTW. Updated (lower) prices are up now - due to popular demand. ;)

Well I've removed the bezel from my case already so if that Res can be mounted horizontally I can put that in the front and the Rad on top.

I take it these plug & cool fittings have to be used with solid/hard pvc tubing and u have to do 90deg corners if u want to work ur way around anything?

I'm not sold on them, i'm gonna be ordering some of their kit soon and think i'll go with the 10mm barb with a cable tie around it.

Also if u read this pug (raymond e fiest?) will u be stocking the mounting kit/plate u need for the geforce 4?

    Hez

    EDIT:
Nothing todo with raymond, just noticed its ur surname

Hezza - no the tubing is flexible, as seen here

I'd personally use a cable clamp, rather than a zip-tie but I get your drift... ;)

Yes on the GF4 hold down - I'll order anything I don't stock too but will stock anything I think will be in demand.

You appear to have sussed the origin of my nick :) - although someone mentioned Feist once before, what's the connection?

    HTH.

[Edit] Haddy - did you think the tubing was solid too?
Your post suddenly makes more sense to me...

I assumed u had to use hard tubing after seeing this watercooling setup on the aquacomputer.de site: (tho after having another look i see that the tubing is flexible)

    http://217.172.178.216/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.pl?board=1;action=display;num=1023054711

    Specifically this picture:

So just how secure are these compresson fittings, i'm not too keen on the idea of sticking the end of the tubing down a hold and expecting it to keep a good seal. Anyone had any experience with these?

Pug is a character from these books writen by raymond e fiest (very good btw, you should all go out and read them)

Mashie - already done (for the AC kit)
I'm waiting for an updated one myself, which is why I'd been putting it off.
These are pretty close to finalised now. :)

Hezza - they are the same fittings used for commercial air applications. Says a lot to me.

I've been investigating these for a while now and have yet to hear bad reports of them.
I'd be keen to hear myself if anyone has heard of these failing, for obvious reasons.
I probably stand to lose more than anyone if they turn out to be unreliable - I'm investing all I have (and some I don't) to make this kit more widely available to UK and US buyers :worried:

Even if it is flexible you'd still need to use some angle connectors for the tighter angles. I can't see how else you get from the CPU out to GPU in.

depending on the tubing you get there really isnt any need for 90degree peices unless ur in a very very smally case.....the best tubing imo right now is tygon .....it has the best flexability and strength and is a clear color unlike silicone tubing......

I've heard formers used for the tube and bent into shape and then warmed in an oven. I should imaging a heat gun will do the same trick and then cool the tube quickly so it retains the formed shape. I didn't need it for mine situation, but would have used this method as opposed to elbows or couplings.

I see the more joints you have, the more points you have of failure for leaks.

    Limit risk, above looks :dude:
