looking for a bit of info, just putting together my new pc using my old pair of 5770's, if i use the two top pci slots of the asus p6t se there is no gap between the two cards so i would like to know if i use the two lower pci slots and leave the top one empty will the two cards be still running on pci-e 16x speed, that way there will be a gap and allow the cards to breath a bit

yeah i was thinking that - i ran hd4890s in those 2 slots and they only went to 75 degrees max (ie the top card). as long as you have decent airflow through your case then you will be fine. or get a fan on your side panel.

that was another thought, to fit a fan in the side panel to blow air over the cards

im using a hiper osiris, it has a clear side panel so not to hard to cut a 120m hole
