right, got my 9800, installed it, reinstalled windows tried those omega drivers, they installed alright but then said it was going to do some tests or sumat on restart, i restarted the monitor went to standby mode and after a while it rebooted did that lots of times, finally went into safe mode and uninstalled them wtf was that all about? official Cat 3.7's didnt help tried uninstalling SmartGart too, didnt help tried the 3.6's on the CD same thing HELP, 1280x1024 @ 60hz is killing me
I haven't ever had any problems with the Omega drivers. Of course I don't have anything as fancy as a 9800. Did you uninstall the drivers you had loaded prior to trying to install the omegas?
it was a clean install of XP there were no other drivers and i have uninstalled and reinstalled the omegas, cat 3.7, cat 3.6 several times trying to make this f**$@&£&"£& thing work and to top it all of my speakers refuse to work properly in 5.1 mode, even tho its set up IDENTICALLY to how it was before i even have a bloody screenshot of the old install
From the omega readme: Not sure if that has anything to do with your refresh rate. I don't have XP, so I don't know too much about how to help with that. I did see on the omega site that he has a newer driver (9/20/2003) that supposedly fixes some 9800SE something.
i cant change anything monitor related because it doesnt know what gfx card it is i was using the latest omega drivers....
YOU FIXED IT!!!!!!!!! My god I love you... Since I reinstalled Windows, I couldn't get 1152x864 to work at 75Hz, which I know my monitor supports, even though it was fine before...disabling this worked...I know I should read readmes and stuff, but it's so much more fun when someone tells you the answer Thanks
And it's so much more fun for me to be able to tell you the answer (and boost my ego a bit in the process ). Hamish, have you been able to make any more headway on your problem? Edit: oh yeah....I love you too.
i did eventually get it to boot but there were artifacts in windows, Dx7/8 was really poor performance and loads of corruption Dx9 resulted in this taken it out and put my 4200 back in RMA time me thinks
Hamish, What MoBo/Chipset are you running... I have just finally gotten to the bottom of some of my Radeon problems, which has involved all sorts of Voltage tweaks, different drivers, different DX versions etc. If you want, you can email me: lee at sensateinteractive.com And I'll put you onto some of the pages I've been through to resolve this issue. Javen
Fair enough, mate Just thought I might be able to help... I had considered RMAing mine a few times, but now I've got it working its the dogs back wheels! Javen
