I figured I'd post this, as I can't download drivers from the ATI/AMD site (they make you run a stupid file that checks if you computer maker allows drivers to be downloaded, and mine is not, a Dell with a x1400). So I managed to find the direct link to drivers, and I wish to share it for those who want it as well. It's been working for quite some time. (about 2 years.) Currently 8.3. http://ati.amd.com/online/mobilecatalyst/ They work perfectly, without any disabled functionality : scaling, brightness, Powerplay (battery saving), VGA out, TV out... (this one is in BW for me but I have a bad pinned cable (svideo to component) never tried a proper one !!)
wa? your dell pc doesn't let you download drivers from the ati site for your ati card? What kind of logic is that? wow I hate dell.
My mate had the same problem with his toshiba and it was left unresolved. Thanks for posting this, I'll get him to give them a try
