    does anyone know if free nas supports the various mini-itx format atom boards? the reason I ask is that they are quite cheap I have to admit to being inspired by nexxo and his latest project

    Check the webside, but I would say that it does because the atom is just another x86 processor like any other.

    The only problem could be if the chip set used is well supported, as AH says the cpu is just a fairly standard x86. I half remember when the atom first came out it used a non intel nic whose drivers under Linux were a bit naff but that has probably been rectified.
