Some times when I play original xbox games on my xbox 360, I get a loud screech, that sounds like a mix between static and gears grinding. It only lasts for about a 1/4 a second but it scares the crap out of you cause its unexpected. I have a Logitech Z-5500 5.1 surround connected to the xbox via optical cable.

Its only happenes when I play original xbox games, not during movies, or 360 games. Any past experiances with this happeneing to you? Any idea on what it could be? I'm thinking it. Thanks for the help

    Have you updated the 360?

Maybe its a software issue with its backwards compatibility?

I had a similar problem when I first got my xbox and I played Perfect Dark.

I would hear loud machine noises for ages, and it would come and go.

Very annoying seeing you have to restart to get rid of it.
