   Now would probably be a good time to highlight Windows 10's new [as in new to the 'Fall Creators' Update'] Controlled Folder Access feature.
   
   By all accounts, it doesn't stop ransomware going to town on your system, but it did stop most ransomware messing with the protected folders.
   
   ...all of which you should have backed up anyway.
