So my plan is to make a display case of sorts to show all of the cards I've owned over the years. I was going to make a nice model using sketchup and so I realized I needed to make 3d models of the actual cards. They didn't have to be very detailed, but I was bored. And my boredom led to these: The first card I modeled was 3dfx Voodoo 3 2000 AGP. This was my first attempt at something semi-accurate using sketchup. I had used it prior to make models of my case building plans, but nothing this detailed. Heatsinks are a major time consumer; I probably spent 3 hours doing the ramsinks. The clear red plastic fan duct turned out better than I thought it would. I thought the fan blades turned out rather well. I think I spent 2 hours on them alone. Lots of free time is fun.
With or without the hsf? The hsf on the hd2900 kind of blocks everything else. And I don't have the card in hand so I can measure everything.
And another creation: A generic 120mm x 120mm x 25mm fan. Curved fan blades are fun to do. My next step up is to try to make the blades themselves concave. Link to model: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=306d0a310da372cf130bd4a24462d5a8&ct=mdsa
Ah. In any case, here's another model. Black Ice Stealth GTX 360 Radiator The fins made my computer die, otherwise there would be twice as many (like the real thing). Link to model: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=3421ca55aee5839592f7dedf9f1b57b4
