Hi guys, can I benefit from some of your knowledge please.........

From what I can tell I have bios F3 and it says on Giga.com that i5 760 isnt supported till F9

    ???

my pc is working now with the i5 in but I want to make sure everything is 'tip top' :D

any advice??? giga.com also says to take small steps in the revisions like f3-5-7-f9 is this true or can I just flash F9 straight in?

    Cheers

It could be that each bios update just adds to whats already there rather than rewriting it. You haven't said what i5 if it's the 760 then you're sorted. The updates might just be to iron out a few bugs.

One way to look at it is if it ain't broke, there's no need to fix it. Or you can run the gigabyte bios checker to see what one you've got installed and take it from there.

    decided to flash

    I decided to update the bios so downloaded F5, F7, F9 & F11 (im on F3)

so using @bios utility I saved current F3 bios and then......
accidentally flashed F9 first:wallbash: suppose thats why you should take your time doh!

booted first time so restarted to make usual bios changes...... then it started playing up! so flashed back to F3 using Q flash and back to normal. phew

so should I flash in increments then lol

Bulldogjeff: that Bit Tech slogan is in my head! " if its broke fix it, if it isn't mod it!"
    lol

Stick with what you've got fella unless theres a particular reason to change it, or do it in steps.

I may regret it but I want the board up to date, bit of an OCD thing lol

steps (3) to 5 -7 -9 -11 sound ok? I might stop at 9 as e few people have had problems with 11 and it seems 10 is just crap

    ???

    Thanks bulldog

EDIT: ive made sure Ive got a backup of original bios in a safe place and theres the dual bios incase something goes t*ts up lol
