Honestly, it's probably a good thing. Games like Bioshock 2 I'm happier to wait 6 months for and have an experience that will stay with me forever than get it early and have it mediocre.

Agreed. The reason Blizzard makes such amazing games is because they are not afraid to make us wait so that they can get everything spot on for release. As much as I hate waiting, I see this as positive step.

If only more developers and publishers had this attitude.

Thing is... it'll still probably be released 'early' with insufficient testing and need a glut of patches.

That, or it'll be released on consoles then the PC version will take 6 months to be released!

If they actually make it fun this time then it would be nice!

It's funny how everyone has such a different take on the game.
Personally, I thought it was awesome and am happy to wait as long as needed for a worthy sequel.

    Greetings!
    Lets hope so.
Bought it when it came out in September, only finished it on May. It felt like a chore.

Considering this looks like it'd be better titled Bioshock Only With Different Guns, I'm not sure what the big deal is.

Really though. I have played it 3 times through (on different difficulties) and it was a lot of fun each time. Whereas I got bored of Fallout 3 very quickly and can't really be bothered to try playing it again.

I'm glad they're taking there time to get this (hopefully) right, the premise seemed quite ambitious and potentially quite brilliant if they can make it work.

Good luck to them, I'll be waiting for the positive reviews with my money in my hand.

They saw the backlash at Valve for trying to release an expansion pack as a full sequel and thought "Oh ****, rumbled! We need to add more to this!" :p

It'd take a lot more than a few months of extra dev-time to make a sequel good enough to wash away the foul taste left by Bioshock for me.

I wonder if it's a prequel or a sequel to the story?

If it's a sequel, then forget it.

It's a sequel, the premise has been quite clearly laid out all over the net.

What's wrong with it being a sequel? Whilst playing as a Big Daddy is a little weird imo, the actual story behind it (a little sister returning years later to rebuild Rapture in her own image) sounds pretty cool.
