Im sure i seen a thread before, about the CS bit clan, If i did, when do you play?, where do u play? how do i earn my bit Clan stripes?
Where is a good place to go for help with beginning the counter strike craze? I am very good at unreal and Q3 but have never played CS. Any help would be appreciated.
get Half-Life, download CS, customize your controls, go in the game and after half an hour you'll know what to do
yes best way to learn is by experience. go to www.barrysworld.com for a lil backround if youd like. its basically the same as any FPS only mastery of the many unique weapons is really important. some of the tips i can think of off the top of my head: -crouching makes shots more accurate -rifles can go through objects like crates and some walls looks like i dont know too much i suppose. its not too tough. i reccomend joining a server that is only running 1 map, such as an all de_dust server. stay on that map and learn the ins and outs of the weapons on familiar terrain. thats my 2 cents. or pence i suppose since this is bit-tech.
the AK and the commando are the best guns around. The commando is slightly more accurate than the AK, and you can zoom a bit with it, but it's more expensive and the bullets have less muscle power. With the AK you should burst, like 2-3 bullets shooting, wait a sec, and again 2-3 bullets. If you don't have enough money, the MP5 (if I recall correclty) is a good choose too. It cost only 1500 credits. You should always buy bullets too! If you by a non automatic gun (like a desert eagle -> very good gun!) you should buy "secondary ammo", for a real rifle like an AK or commando, you should buy "primary ammo". When running, take your knife! You'll go slower if run around with a gun in your hands. But make sure you have already selected your gun, so that when you want to fire, you first take your gun. Differint grenades: FlashBang: these grenades make the screen of every one who was close to the grenade totally white. They can't see a thing. So if you see some enemys, trow a flashbang, go after a corner or something, wait for it too explode, go out again and shoot the enemies. HE grenade: High Explosive grenade. These grenades are the only grenades that do actual damage. It's very useful when you see a large croud of enemies, but you won't mostly kill someone with it, exept if he has already lost some HP. Smoke Grenade: a this one speaks for itselfs but beware, it's very laggy! okay, that's about it, I think... Oh yeah, the objectives: if you're a terrorist, most of the times you should bomb some place. One terrorist has the bomb (if you have it, you should carry it with you and you should see a green icon somewhere on the screen) and he can drop it or place it at the bombing spot. If he gets killed, the bomb will lay on the place he's been killed and another terrorist can pick it up then. if you're a ct, you should stop the terrorist from bombing the spot. sometimes you have a VIP, then the CTs have to escort it to the escape place. Mostly a helicopter. The Terrorists have to kill the VIP. ofcourse, you can win too by killing every enemy
Yeah get away form Q3 - Unreal is great - but CS a whole lot better - all you need is a copy of HL (Dont think version matters im on the first version, the updates for Half life, the CS files, and a CD-KEY to play online (sould come with your CD ), the downloads will come to about 150-180MB so if you got 56k leave it on overnight, and it'll be done...
