Cooling Bit of advice on fans

    Does it have to be pwm? The yate 38mm would be awesome in front of a rad, all that pressure.

    pwm is backwards compatible with 3pin isn't it?

    personal preference, i rig up every fan to the CPU PWM header and have automatic fan throttling. Since PWM is a switching 12V supply, fans tend to start up and run at lower RPMs than traditional 3pin fans do.

    as far as i'm aware, you can plug a 3pin fan onto a 4pin PWM socket, but you don't get PWM control. but plug a 4pin PWM plug onto a 3pin socket and you have to vary the supply voltage to get any speed control

    Oh and it'd have to be 25mm thick, i don't think i could get 38mm to fit
