I think its more a taster, his F2 championship entry will give him enough points after 12 races to get one from what I remember.

No it won't count towards Super License points, the only way to gain SL points since 2017 is to win/place highly in the various other series. At the minute Mick Schumacher is second in Formula 2, if he finishes in the top 3 at the end of the season he'll get enough points for a Super License in one go.

Stuff like this is more about getting him car time and seeing if he can cope. I suspect that with Mick's performance in F2 this year he'll be sitting in a Sauber Romeo next year. Whether it's because Kimi retires or Gio gets the boot we'll see.

Race quantity doesn't matter anymore as he already meets that criteria.
He has 30 points from his F3 championship, if he gets 6th or better in F2 this season he will have the 40 points required.

Seems like Sergio Perez is leaving RP at the end of the year. Vettel to RP?

Well if nothing else it confirms that Aston Martin will go backwards next year. I don't imagine many outside of the team's top brass and Lance will happy to see Perez go.

    Contracts usually have buyout clauses.

Yes, clean out the clown car at Haas and give seats to Hulk and Perez.

Although, I swear I remember reading that RoGro was out to make way for Hulk (coulda been a dream) and Mag's jacket was hanging on a slack nail. Then again, I also saw something about how they won't discuss changing their driver line-up until they've secured the team's future. Must be hard to attract sponsors when you have two numpties behind the wheel.

    So, definitely Perez then?

Haas did commit to F1 beyond 2021 about a month ago and you are not imagining the rumours and articles stating that after the British GP that Haas had been considering Hulk

Equally tho there are rumours that Ferrari are wanting seats for young drivers at Haas or Alfa. Steiner has been critical of Ferrari engines and where it has left them this season while still acknowledging a lot of Haas success has been due to the support of Ferrari. It will be interesting to see where the relationship stands

Don't know about drivers, but Haas signed the new Concorde Agreement and commited to the end of 2025, the budget cap and prize money re-balance more or less renders their business model viable.

well that was an utter clusterfudge of a restart, giant accordion of the pack expecting the launch off the last corner like normal, then it didnt...

while it is bottas's choice on the pace of restart, suddenly doing something nobody expects like that was likely always going to end up causing that kind of pile up
