So far away ..... So long as I can get a good deal from bundling as I do its no problem, apart from feeding the beast that is Sky/VM, as it is not like F1TV Pro is free either, just cheaper assuming you can get all the other bits cheaper, but as bundling leads to pretty cheap services its actually cheaper for me to have the whole lot from one place than break out and go my own way, I mean 1Gb BB, all the channels, unlimted mobile, a couple of boxes, netflix and anytime home phone for £80 is pretty decent. Once you buy each of those things separately it really adds up as less incentives are offered.
I just sail the seas when it comes to watching live. The quality is good enough and judicious use of ad blockers stop it from being an awful experience. Though nearly had a run in with a sneaky 18 rated page being behind the main stream so that when I closed it the 18 rated page appeared. My son would have gotten an eye full except luckily I was stood between him and the screen when I closed the stream! I will not give money (knowingly) to Murdoch but would pay for F1 TV if available.
So did the BBC [and so does Whisper Films/Channel 4], and iirc for the beeb, selling their commentary to other english-speaking markets covered a not-insignificant portion of the costs.
Came across this article where it claims Steiner is possibly taking Gene Haas to court over who owns the team. https://www.formulanerds.com/news/conflict-at-haas-as-steiners-claim-to-900-million-in-muddy-waters/
https://www.planetf1.com/news/daniel-ricciardo-out-of-dutch-gp-liam-lawson-in/ Well D-Ric's comeback has been cracking... Lian Lawson is about to make his unplanned Formula 1 debut, good luck to the guy. But seriously, ouch.
Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date bahahahahahahahahahaha... i mean verstappen's probably still going to win by 10 minutes but... for today... bahahahahahahahahahahahaha....
What a race it was for the last 20 laps - super intense battles. Reflects how good this season would have been if Verstappen hadn't been so dominant (as Perez wouldn't have walked every race).
now on to Japan to see if it was a 'dominant team struggles at Singapore' a la merc or a 'pace mysteriously disappears after a technical directive' a la ferrari 2019[?].
Well, there is the argument that Max struggled last year in Singapore as well and Sergio only won by a thin margin, so it might indeed be track specific.
Bumpy track with lots of kerbs and drain covers, they need to run the famously welded to the ground car much higher. In my dreams the bendy wing test has knobbled them, I suspect that next week at Suzuka Verstappen will flatten everybody like it's no big deal.
There was a stat doing the rounds stating the Giovinazzi has led more laps round Singapore than Verstappen has.
Yea should be business as usual in Suzuka. Red Bull always said they would struggle in Singapore. Seems they had to raise the ride height of the car meaning they lost all the effect from the floor. Since they naturally run lower their suspension is far stiffer so the extra ride height completely killed them. Also meant they couldn't get the car is the correct setup window. Interestingly in Belgium they had plank wear issues due to the low ride height and Raidillon profile causing excessive bottoming. Red Bull were lifting through it every lap to ensure they could run the car as low as possible and not cause the plank wear to get them disqualified, hence the "use your head, Max" comment. I guess other teams and drivers struggling with this all season they knew how to compromise and dial issues out of the car rather than plonking the car on the rails and letting it run like a Scalextric's set
