Fine, you go grab your red shirt and beam down with the team.
    Still want to follow Kirk?

Picard was more suave, he didn't have to get in a fist fight, rescue/seduce an alien or scream his head off in every episode, Kirk is a soccer hooligan compared to Picard.

Who needs homepages and bookmarks when forums.bit-tech.net/usercp.php is so easy to remember?

I agree, the question didn't include manual entry!

omg...don't even start...sound like a girl...under 30...who opens her own doors and wants to vote but doesn't ever want to pick up a check...:D

only reason picard won is most of survey readers are < 30 years old...

    it's kirk...period...and i don't need to justify it...

Yeah, we missed of manual entry and RSS feeds. This was partly because we forgot about them, but also because that first question was more to classify your involvement in the site rather than to see how you accessed it.

Glad I could help on this survey.

About Picard, I bet most of the people voted on him because of the memes flying around the interweb being most of him instead of Kirk... well, I sure I did that, so in Picard's honor:

Yes, you do. Memories of the kick-ass JT Kirk in TOS have been forever damaged by the images of the porky anachronism who featured in the later movies.

Picard Cheesecake. Every frikkin time. :D

I always read through bit-tech game reviews, some of the best on the net and it's a shame you don't review more!

Surprised so many IT professionals on here - you can tell from the comments sections & forums there are a fair few about, but one in three? Crikey!

As for Kirk vs Picard, no contest! And I remember watching (re-runs) of TOS on the 10" black & white TV in my parents kitchen before Next Generation came out, so no bias there.

They may have both got stuff done, but it was the manner in which they did it. Picard was the 24th century Sherlock Holmes, the intellectual epitome of cool - whereas Kirk was just Rambo in Space.

Will Riker vs Spock? Now that's a different story altogether...

Great results guys, the only other tech site I feel the need to visit is Arstechnica. Don't be discouraged by those who don't like random articles, I cant wait for this years mince pie round up!

Best captain? I'm gonna mix things up and say Q.

Interesting stuff. Ignore the negative 38%- this site would be nothing without the general interest articles. How would I know what mince pies to buy?
