Hi All, Got given a new set of headphones for Christmas, SteelSeries Arctis 3, and trying to source a usb dongle to drive them from the PC - and getting seriously confused by Bluetooth standards... The headphones are listed as 4.1, but all the dongles i find say 4.0 (or 5?! which isn't released yet, by my reading we're at 4.2...) - will it be compatible? Cheers, MadG
Hi There Yes they will work fine with anything from the last 10 years as from my understanding bluetooth 4.1 is backwards compatible. Hope this helps Scott
You should be ok with a 4.0 widget, of which i'd just get the cheapest reputable-ish name you can find - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sabrent-Bluetooth-Adapter-Technology-BT-UB40/dp/B06XHY5VXF/ But there are BT 5.0 widgets out there if you want to be totally sure - https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-USB-BT500-Bluetooth-5-0-Adapter/dp/B08B9WQFTL/ But yes... it's a bit of a mess [imo], a lot of adaptors either don't adhere to spec or lie about what they support.
