I have just rebuilt a s775 PC, MSI P35 Neo with Q6600 and 4x1 GB DDR2 running Win 7 and it is stalling on start up.
I'm sure it didn't do this with the XP install when I inherited it.
What I mean by stalling, is it fires up, fans spin, then it goes quiet after a second or 2, then starts up properly.

I can't see anything in the BIOS that may help, and haven't had much luck online.

The hardware is all the same as before, just a clean up and new OS.

i would recommend getting the latest bios. Double check your sata connections, hard drive. Default the bios.

Maybe remove a ram stuck and try another if you have one. Maybe a different lead for the hard drive.

Maybe also clear the cmos just un case
