First time building a PC in 5 years. Haven't really kept up with specs lately. My current rig: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz Installed RAM 32.0 GB Corsair XMS3 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) EVGA GTX 1070 EVGA GTX 960 ~6 TB of storage Boot drive is samsung 500 Gb SSD 4 SSDs 2 spinning drives Dell P2715Q Monitor Dell U2913WM Monitor I'd like to build today's equivalent and use my current graphics cards until I can find/buy a new card at MSRP. I have case and power supply to use and a few extra SSD's. So I am need recommendations for: Motherboard CPU RAM I tend to like to EVGA, ASUS and Intel My budget is around $800-$1000, would like to spend less. Not looking to break records, but would like o build something expandable. My primary activities are graphics, 3D modeling and gaming. Note that my current rig does pretty well with these now, but I am ready to grow. TIA
Ah, yeah you'll be wanting more like 3200MHz or 3600MHz these days! TBH you'll probably get most benifit from a Ryzen 5xxx CPU and a x570 board. And of the Asus ones are good, and ones without the chipset fan are just releasing. Something along these lines https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YDTMkX That CPU can be a bit tricky to find but I think its getting better. It doesn't come with a cooler, but you didn't specify what you currently have.
I appreciate your assistance. I am still a little reluctant to jump on the AMD processor. Will that AMD do as well or better than the Intel i7 for gaming, rendering? This is where I am now (if I stick to intel) ASUS Prime Z590-P LGA 1200 (Intel 11th/10th Gen) ATX Motherboard G.Skill RipJaws V Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) CL18-22-22-42 1.35V Dual Channel Desktop Memory Intel Core i7-10700K Desktop Processor 8 Cores up to 5.1 GHz Unlocked LGA1200 (Intel 400 Series Chipset) 125W (BX8070110700K) Another question: Are AMD video cards easier to get than NVidia? I really doubt I'd go to AMD on graphics cards, but want to know. TIA

You're in the US, so your best bet its to go to a physical store I think.
Thanks for that! I may just go AMD this time. Obviously more expensive, but appears to be the bigger bang for the buck.
