Hi, I am new to these forums and need a little retail help. I am planning to put a new pc together but cannot decide on the case to use. Basically I will want the following to be able to fit in it. Motherboard / Abit AA8-Duramax SKT775 DDR2 PCI-E 7.1audio gigabit lan CPU / Pentium 650J 3.4Ghz 800FSB 2MB Socket 775 GFX / PNY GeForce 7800GTX 256mb 256bit DDR3 PCI-E HDD1 / WD360GD 36.7Gb 8Mb Cache 10,000rpm SATA HDD HDD2 / Western Digital WD3000JD Caviar SE 300GB 7200RPM SATA/150 RAM / 2GB 400MHz DDR2 Non-ECC CL3 DIMM Kit DVDRW / NEC ND3550A 16x DVD±RW Dual Layer Internal IDE I would like the unit to be well powered, cool and quiet and good value because as you can see my moola is tied up in the above. Any suggestions will be much appreciated Cheers
well imho a case is a case, and you get what you pay for. you dont mention watercooling so space isnt a real issue so any case would do you providing its got good airflow, this thread is a bit vague to say the least, just pick a case YOU like the look of then read some reviews.
Like the power supply; don't skimp on the case - anything less than £20 is going to have equivalent build quality to a cereal box, and you'll come to regret it when you have to put your components in it. I would recommend any of the Coolermaster Centurion range. They're about £40-50 and are very good value for money - you get excellent build quality, plenty of room, and (working) tooless installation If you want a case with power supply designed for silent, then look no further than the Antec Sonata. It includes a quality Antec supply which might be capable of powering that system... best to switch to A64 if you plan to use the supplied PSU though because of the decreased power consumption.
yeah i agree wit hthe others you get what you pay...coolermaster has a nice range nowadayz...also why are you going with a P4 setup? AMD is clearly better in most departments and cheaper...
as above, whatever case you like the look of get it lol, i personally like lian li but they might be a bit pricey... + i agree with atanum there is no clear point to buy a p4 atm especially for nvidia as you cannot go to sli (if you per chance see another card the same as yours on ebay for a tenner because they spelt 6800 wrong or something )
ooohhh shush you!!! @boswell i agree with u but u CAN go SLi with nvidia using Nvidia nForce4 chipset...but clearly the AMD numbers add up better.
I just got a Coolermaster Centurion and I love it. Really simple case, as far as working on, with good features and space. Great prices also.
