Recently I see lots of people bumping threads that are like...5 years old, with nothing to add to the discussion (stuff like: re-up pics?). I was wondering your stance on the situation. Seeing how It just creates lots and lots of threads, clogs up everything.

    Thanks.

I agree, I hate clicking on the newest post in a thread and it havin no relevance to anything current, or all the pics are down. I think that, posts that old that have no relevance or the person has taken the pictures down, should be deleted.

My own stance (don't take it as the official line) was covered in a PM I sent not long ago after suggesting an earlier thread be updated rather than a new one begun.
As you can see, a couple of "gut-reaction posts" were made "without posters reading the earlier one, where I think some facts had been dug out to calm the hysteria or at least make the posters think."

It all depends on what the resurrection man has to say, whether it's useful new information, like a link update, or just "me too" spamming. Unfortunately it's usually the latter. :nono:

Couldnt you make it so all threads over say,2 months old get auto-locked?

what happens to things like the post your desktop then, wouldnt work.

Threads that are left for longer than 2 months can some times be brought up in a usefull way, as such the current system is about as good as it gets, perhaps with a bit more common sence from some bit tech members...
