I know there hasnt been a buyers guide since September so I was wondering in the premium players rig a vertex 3 240gb is recommended but with the release of the Samsung 830, would you recommend the Samsung over the vertex now?

I'd personally go for a M4. Cheaper, more steady speed, ect :)

The M4 would of been my original choice but then I read the Samsung 830 review on bit tech and anandtech which both (especially the anandtech review) seem to say the Samsung drive is extremely reliable and very consistent in its faster speeds, better than those of the M4..

It's price for me, I use SATA 3GB/s SSD's and they're more than fast enough, so quibbling over 100MB/s doesn't matter to my mine. £50 or so does though... :p
