Windows C.A.R.S Pre alpha Development build released!

I've just watched this whilst The Trooper was on very loudly in the background.

That was nice.

 

So I finally get to drive Fittipaldi's, Rindt's and Senna's cars? AWESOME.

Now if they can get some of the old Williams and McLarens in. That would make my day. And convince me to buy it.

did you try doing a full unistall (removing documents\cars as well as main folder)? I

Wow I just watched that hockenheim video and it was exciting! Looked so much fun its tempting me to get this game and a steering wheel and pedals...

 

the car loooks Faaantastic!, but it just has placeholder physics ATM.

 

I'm loving the previous build, but this latest one is a bag of crashes for me (and most of the WMD forum).

That looks great. I have a Fanatec Wheel Stand Pro in the loft and that looks very similar - nice work!

 

I'm kind of stuffed with this new launcher.

It downloads the patches/game installer to C drive, can't seem to change this, and I don't have enough space on my C drive for it.

Suppose I could create a junction, although it might be easier just to finally buy an SSD and be done with it,

 

Thanks for the movies and links. Is "High" the highest settings or is there an Ultra or something? Also can you reduce the blur and stuff? I think I'm going to buy this, but I'll need to find a good price on a decent wheel with pedals first.

 

You can change the patch location in the options menu, which is accessed from the launcher login screen.

Hadn't seen that.

Looked in the forums but I obviously didn't look far enough in, .

Anyway, downloaded 249 through torrent, and then let the launcher get the others, then it started installing. It started extracting the stuff to the C drive, presumably to a temp dir, so my C drive space dropped down to 81MB, and then I cancelled it as it wasn't going to fit, .

 

Just a (sort of) hint, if you launch the game with ' -use3dscene ' in the target, you will get the 3d garage preview back again...but its hilariously glitchy and gives you a black garage (the reason they took it out of the build).

Also if you are wanting to play this with dx11 ontop, you may have to add -dx11 as well.

Words cannot describe how much I am looking forward to rain! I just hope they bring out some wet-weather tyres sooner rather than later ... esp for the Formulas and the X4 Touring

 

Just played a bit of 277, loving the visual changes to Eifelwald. It is shaping up rather nicely!

I tried rain (with the new particle effects) but for some reason it didn't render the sky so I ended up with rain and clouds in front of pitch black :/ . I will verify files and try again tomorrow, hopefully with better luck.

Now I just need to find a good song to last the length of an Eifelwald lap in an X4 Touring!

 

I didn't know there was a new build! I should check every week as I get weekly builds, duh.

I'll have to re-download though because I re-installed windows a couple days ago.

Overall the game is brilliant, I just need to fork out a steering wheel for it!
