This news story has been updated.

Also, you two get rep for pointing that out so quickly.

What's wrong with BASIC? It might make an iPhone user think? It's not like you're likely to hack the phone with a program written for a C64 VM in BASIC. Another reason I will never own an Apple product...

Five games eh? I'd like to see:
    1) Frogger
    2) Space Taxi
    3) Rick Dangerous
    4) Skool Dayz
    5) Manic Minor.

Out of interest, when you've jailbroken the phone can you still connect to the AppStore and buy apps?

Frogger and Rick Dangerous are already available as their own apps.

Yes you can, App store still works a 100%, you can even spoof the firmware version to run newer apps if you don't actually have that firmware installed.

I personally don't see any reason why not to jailbreak a iphone.

So I could jailbreak my phone, link it to Vodafone (o2 seriously lacks reception where I am) and still be able to access the app store with no issues whatsoever?

you'd have to unlock your phone to use it on a different network, jailbreaking won't do that.

By itself, no.. You need to jailbreak the phone, then run unlocking software.

Even if it's jailbroken, how can you switch networks if you can't change the sim card?

the sim slot is at the top of the phone, push a paper clip into that hole and you'll see.

i forgot, you will need to run yellowsn0w to unlock 3G's.

Its all this restrictions applied by Apple that makes me not want to own one.
I don't want to have to jailbreak my phone if I want to use it to its full potential.

This article was good for me though as I just realised I can get some awesome emulators now for the G1.
Genesis and Snes emulators, SCUMM VM etc are all available now!
Was playing desert strike the other day, amazing! :)
