All in the title really. I have an old PSU but can't find the lead. Can I connect an old kettle lead to it safely or should I buy a specialised lead?

As long as it has the same fuse in it as a lead for a PSU has there shouldn't be a problem...... at least when I've used the lead of our kettle in the past I haven't had any problems......

That is "a specialised lead". Bog-standard IEC320 (BS4491) fitting.
