This is probably a long shot but it'd be so useful.

Is there any way that I can have my webspace seen in windows as a drive with a letter. (ie I want to convert my "ftp://www.mydomain.com/" access to E:\ ).

So that while I'm connected to the internet I can access my docs etc in word, acrobat or whatever and save them back after modifications as if they were local when actually they are remote.

Google loves you :D Sounds like if it works, it'll do what you need... (By looking at the comments, it doesn't seem entirely reliable....) Either way, you're going to need special software to achieve this.

    Edit:
    Couple more here: http://www.jscape.com./reddrive/index.html
    http://www.killprog.com/ (ftpdrive, got good reviews).

Alternatively, I think you can add a shortcut to my network places, and access that through explorer, and therefore acrobat and such?

Edit 2: I just added my webspace to network places on Vista (Tools on explorer > Map network drive > Connect to a website), and when saving in notepad, if I expand the folders dropdown, the webspace appears under 'computer'.

I'm using XP and I can do that for the purposes of opening files, tried Paint and Notepad. But I cannot then save the file back to where it came. ie I'd have to save it to somewhere locally, then open ftp program, then transfer it and then delete the local copy - I want less steps!

Also on XP it appears under 'My Network Places > The Internet' which isn't accessible by many programs like a true local drive.

Not far off - most useful so far that I've tried. It maps your wuala space online to your W: drive as default but that can be changed to any chosen letter. Just need to find something similar that will allow me to use my own webspace - I want more than the free allocation and I don't want to pay for it.
