Can I run Q9450 on Striker Extreme?

    I just wana buy a new cpu without changing my motherboard, but I don't know if I can still run Q9450 on my Asus Striker Extreme?

    any1 know that? thx

    A quick check on Asus' website says no.

    again according to Asus' website you can run the following:

    Core 2 Quad Q6700 (BIOS 1203)
    Core 2 Extreme QX6850 (BIOS 1303)
    Core 2 Duo E8500 (BIOS 1502)

    Without checking, I don't know if this is due to the boards age or BIOS, keep and eye out on asus' site, or perhaps someone can fill in the gap.
