Is it possible to use RAM which is rated faster than the rating of your motherboard? My mobo is 1333Mhz but I can get hold of some 1600Mhz for less than buying new 1333Mhz.

And would I need to alter any BIOS settings to make it work or would it just be a case of slotting it in as normal?

    Thanks

Sure, your ram will just run at 1333. Just like CPUs that can be underclocked ... you can downclock your ram (maybe you'll be able to lower ram timing this way).

If you just slot it in as normal the bios should read the timing settings off the ram for 1333 and set it up for you, you shouldn't need to do anything really.
