    Hi all,

As the title says can you put a PCIe x1 card into a x16 slot?

I have an old Asus A8N32 Deluxe that is running my Windows Home Server and I need to add a few more SATA ports but only the X16 slots are free.

I believe the answer is yes its doable but I would like some reassurance from some one that has done it before I risk frying a perfectly good system with a £15 SATA card.

    Thanks

Not slicing of electricals, just the plastics that surround them :)
