Planning on a new build and hope to start placing orders this week. I'm an After Effects, Premiere and Autodesk user. I do occassionally game but the workloads are my primary use. I don't have a strict budget, but I was hoping to get everything for £2000-£2100. I haven't got anything that I can re-use as my current system is going to be handed over to my younger brother. Here is what I've put together. Please let me know your thoughts. Sahara P75 £100.00 AMD Ryzen 7 2700X AM4 £289.99 MSI X470 GAMING M7 AC AM4 £239.99 Palit RTX 2070 OC 8gb £450.00 Windows 10 Home 64-bit OEM £103.37 Corsair TXM 750W £71.08 Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB 3200MHz £235.29 Samsung 500GB 960 Evo M.2 £100.00 Seagate BarraCuda 4TB HDD £87.00 Trust Gaming 2.1 Soundbar £59.99 Acer G276HLLbidx Monitor x 2 £155.00 Total with peripherals will be £2100
Board is overkill and i'd probably opt for a different case. I'll provide a 'here what i would've done' spec when I get a free moment.
Funny you should say that, those are the 2 areas that are bugging me the most. I want a good looking case but something closer to a full tower because I can see myself adding parts in the future. I had the Obsidian 750d, but I don't like the look. The Be Quiet 900 is probably too much for what I need and too expensive. Unless I drop my Motherboard 2 levels to perhaps an Asus Prime - x470 Pro or even the MSI Pro carbon?
This clocks in at ~£1800 without monitors - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/mjntdX IIRC the RTX line currently does naff all for Adobe/Autodesk stuff and is of little practical utility for games. and Trust peripherals are cheap nasty garbage in my experience. Otherwise I think it's more or less on par with what you picked. Some of the components can he had cheaper in the various sales, though that's not reflected in PCPartpickers' prices.
Thanks for the link and the input. I didn't know about that site, but that will save me quite a bit. I've decided that I am going to go for an x470 board mid-budget board, either the Pro Carbon or Asus x470-f. In terms of GPU, I'm trying to find a 2nd hand 1080ti not too far from my home so that I can go test before buying. I saw one going for less than a new 1080 last night, which has been sold now. I think I'm going to go with the Enthoo Pro as my case, seems good value for money.
