    Hello folks!

So this is my first scratch build. I've been planing to do some thing like this for a while, but haven't gotten around to doing it. So here we go!

    The frame:

This still needs a sanding (600- 800 grit) and 2 more layers of paint along with a clear coat. The material is 80-20 10 Series aluminum extrusions which you can find here: 80-20 inc 10 Series extrusion 24"
The dimensions (L*W*H) are: 14x24x14 inches.

    Case base:

This will be the bottom of the case where the motherboard tray, PSU,HDD cage, etc will be mounted.

For the size (24x14in), the polycarb flexes a bit too much to my liking and since it's only a 1/8in polycarb, I decided to put a layer of fiberglass.

This now flexes much less than with plain polycarb.
Note: I got the fiberglass from Home Depot and due to the way they pack it, it was messed up in certain places, for the base, this doesn't matter as it will be painted black anyways.

So what does the future look like?
How about the sides panels built with Carbon fiber? And DIY WCing? Illusion Film any one? :D

PS: Special thanks goes to craigbru for giving me a link to a cheap place to buy CF along with good advice when working with CF. ;)

It looks like a good start bro! Have you sketched up a plan for the interior layout?

Dude, you should repost at http://forums.losias.net too. It would fit right in!

Yup. Have a CAD of the interior. Still tweaking and deciding where the PSU should go.

 This isn't exactly a SSF...

    Anyways,
I was thinking about doing 1/2 of all the fins in it's entirety and the rest along the trailing edge.

I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Lol, there's a fine line on what we consider SFF. We do have a few full size rigs there too.

That might not be bad. You just might have to be the guinea pig on this one... :D
