Modding Case idea ???

Cut some more bits of acrylic,few holes to do on them,hope to do them this week.
Some pics of the test fitting,not brill but im happy how it looks so far





Gave the frame a coat of primer,will leave it for a couple of days then spray it white.


Hope to do a bit more this week then get the case home and start rebuilding,

I sprayed the frame black i think it looks better




Silver bolts will be swapped for black allen head bolts and the grills will have green ones

Yeah, I meant to say something about that too. It's technically turned into a work-log, so I'd choose a name and ask a mod to move it over.

I think you could click on the small red square in the bottom left corner of your posts (under the Avatar) and request it to be moved. I guess that would be a good place to start. Otherwise you could PM Bindi (I think he's the mod for the modding forum)

Still got a few things to do,bay units will be covered in carbon fibre vinyl i think they will look ok with the white acrylic.Got two sets of Bills case feet and im gonna stack them to give me some height on the case.Also im gonna have a go at covering my handles with some carbon fibre vinyl.
This is what i hope my case will look like when im done.

Nice work, Skullen! Where did you get the carbon fibre vinyl and how did you cut it? I bought some vinyl from Poundland to start an El Cheapo mod but your post convinced me to do some proper planning first. Keep up the good work!

I get all my vinyl from mnpctech.com and use a sharp blade ,hope this helps
Also on the site is a tutorial on vinyl films

 

i'm really anticipating this, it's looking pretty good.

to be honoust, i liked the earlier versions with the bigger door better. Apart from that, the only gripe i have is the handles. I never liked handle, and they add too much black to the design.

Thanks, I've checked out the vinyl tutorials. At first I did not like the handles but it's grown on me - I don't know if it's the handles or the black stripes, though - I made a mental image of above picture with 2 black stripes where the handles were and quite liked it. Perhaps it's because it continues the black/carbon fibre theme on the front and side panels.

 

Job done,its not brill there are a few boo boos but i can live with them
