i'm after a portable cd/minidisc player that will be able to play mp3's. Ie i burn a cd with just mp3's, not as an audio cd, and i can play it like that? or a minidisc player that has something to go in my sound card to record from my comp. Thanks in advance.

My sound card is a sb live 5.1 player btw

the philip expandium portables will accept mp3 files on cd

all minidiscs will conenc tot a soundcard, you could connect it to the line out & record from the analogue in or use a optical cable

or you could buy a net MD that youc an drag files over to but you need a lot of propietory sony software on your pc for ti wo work

The easistest thing I have found is if your soundcard has a SPDIF (Sony / Phillips) connection then use an optical cable (normally bundled with players) to plug into you mini-disc player. This way you don't need any software and it's preety basic but it works well enough for me.
