Well, I wish I had the same idea back then on how to use the button design properly on cd-rom drives, instead I went for full stealthing. :sigh:

    Keep it up & cheers,
    Mac

I really like this project,. It shows a good understanding of the Bit-tech philosophy. That of seeing things and adapting them to your own requirements.

Several things stand out about this project, the way in which mods have been combined to produce a coherent and unique look, the quality of workmanship and the totally sexy, clean looking drives. I think I will use that idea in one of my own designs ;)

Many of the mods are based on previous ideas but they have a uniqueness born of ingenuity and combination. It brightens my day when I see projects like this and makes the long hours spent on running this site worthwhile.

As for the bio-hazard grill, If you like it then use it. Stuff it if others don't like it. You have put a lot of time and effort into this case and you deserve to have what floats your boat and not what others say.

Who would guess it was a Lian Li? :dremel:

Right guys another update loads has been done but you probably wont notice as its more the bits that will go on the front nothing has of yet been mounted as the wiring has to be done, BUT luckly have managed 2day to get most of the wiring done:D
Will show you more of the front and the back/wires 2morrow when ive finished

    anyway

    The lighted Lian li badge

Slightly updated with thinner plexi 2mm instead of 4mm.
    Another angle.
The back you can see the double sided sticky tape used to stick the lian badge, also the plastic 5mm led holder epoxied on.
    Lights :D

    The Rheobus.

Mounted on 4mm plexi and the knob itself epoxied to the rheo.

    Lights:D

EDIT forgot to mention the rheo's have 2 led's in there

    The front Rheo holes.

Just a quick 1 to show that ive added a metal plate at the back of the rheo to 1. get a smaller hole 2. reflect light

Love those rheobus knobs. Did you make them or buy them? If youmade them, how, and if you bought them where did they come from?

Take a read of the rest of the thread. He made them out of plexi and a piece of alu stuck on the end, the same as his drive buttons and casebadge.

And yes, they look great :thumb:
