It appears I got here first:

The server will be down for a few hours now, for an upgrade.

    Hey all

I'm taking the server down for a bit to test out the update to 1.1.3; it should only be an hour or so, and I'll post here when it's back.

    Heh, quicker than me :)

I'm hoping it won't take more than an hour at the most, but I'll post here when it's back.

There seem to have been some item ID changes in Railcraft. I don't remember having: 3 signal lamps, a turbine disk or an iron bore head... But I did have 3 crowbars, a chest cart and some ties - and the ties seem to have vanished...

I haven't spotted any issues so far in any of the other mods (but I've only been on for 10 minutes!). The obsidian dust I had has now been changed to refined obsidian dust though...

Well. Everything seems to be fine so far, so the server is back up.

I'm going to add this to the OP also, but you need to update to the latest version of the technic pack launcher - I didn't even know it was updated!

You also need to manually select the latest development build of Voltz in the launcher: select the Voltz mod pack and click the little "gear" icon on the logo - that will allow you to change the build selection to 1.1.3.

Finally, I think it was Pete that asked, but yes it's still Minecraft 1.4.7.

EDIT: They've turned down the volume on the enrichment chamber! Hurrah!

DOUBLE EDIT: Before you update, you might want to make a backup of your waypoints and move them to the new version. To do this go to %appdata%\.techniclauncher\voltz\mods\reis_minimap\ and backup all the files there. When you install the new launcher, let it install the new version of Voltz and then quit the application. Now restore the backed-up files to %appdata%\.technic\voltz\mods\reis_minimap\

I have no idea what's going on there I'm afraid... Have you tried it without a texture pack? If it's still broken like that without sphax it's likely to be an issue with Railcraft itself... I can't imagine something as basic as the coke oven being so badly broken in a Railcraft build tho.

So I've run into the position wherein I need mob drops in order to progress, specifically ender pearls and ghast tears. How would one go about acquiring these?

From chat in game I've gathered that there is an enderman spawner somewhere, is this right? Can anybody use it?

/Edit: nix the ender pearls as I found the spawner near the spawn house.

I'll put that info in the OP actually, I'd forgotten about that...

I plan to re-enable hostile mobs as soon as possible - I also need ghast tears, lots of them - but to keep creepers nerfed. There's still a good deal of lag present for us in the UK, and it makes killing creepers damn near impossible.

In order to get there however I need to find a stable mod which integrates the Bukkit API... BukkitForge seems to be holding up OK, but it has been a bit wobbly in the past...

If I remember correctly you make eye of ender with ender pearls and blaze powder/rods? If that's so then you should still be able to find blaze spawners in nether strongholds (in fact the only place you find them, IIRC) even with hostile mobs disabled.

    Hi all

I've re-enabled hostile mobs; there's at least two of us who now need hostile mobs in order to progress... Unfortunately however, I haven't found a plugin which allows me to selectively disable mobs; well I have, but it doesn't work with BukkitForge - instead when I tested said plugin it made all my sheep disappear! (they came back when the plugin was removed however, so no one else should be affected).

What I have done however is discovered the handy Minecraft native command /gamerule mobGriefing - therefore I have stopped creepers from blowing up the landscape (and stopped enderman griefing), but they will still hurt you. With the abundance of materials in Voltz armour isn't exactly an expensive commodity, but let me know if creepers are really starting to cause an issue again.

Can anyone recommend some grief/block protection plugin for Tekkit Lite?

Well since Tekkit has Bukkit running behind the scenes, you should be able to run HawkEye or whatever the modern equivalent is nowadays. It doesn't prevent griefing per-se, but allows you to see exactly what happened in an area and roll back if required. If you want something to protect an area, try Residence (we use it on this server).

Sorry, I've been meaning to reply sooner...

If I remember correctly Tekkit Lite now also uses Forge, so you're going to have the same issues with bukkit plugins that I'm having with Voltz... Tekkit Classic uses bukkit, but that also presents problems as it's such an old bukkit version - most plugins are just incompatible with such an old version (and it's minecraft 1.2.5, don't forget).

You've got two options for Tekkit Like basically: ForgeEssentials, which aims to replicate much of the Bukkit/Essentials functionality in Forge, including block logging - last I tried it was still very WIP/alpha and many features weren't implemented, but there has been a new version lately; or you can try BukkitForge/MCPC+ or similar - these aim to implement the Bukkit API in a Forge-native mod, so that you can use bukkit plugins with a forge-modded server JAR. I've been having a nightmare with BukkitForge - it really doesn't like PermissionsEx and is very fussy with WorldEdit - but I've managed to get it to the point where it basically works.

I used to use HawkEye, as rob mentioned, but I don't know if that's still in active development. The problem with it was that it didn't log changes made by mod items - such as the mining laser or philosopher's stone. EDIT: You might also get the same problem with other block loggers, I don't know.

I haven't implemented anti-griefing or region protection on Voltz - aside from at the spawn point - as we're going primarily for PvP play...
