I was think of getting this new monitor. And I was wondering how good it would look hooking up my 360 to it. Currently I have my 360 hooked up to my 36" full screen HDTV running at 720p(yes, it does cut off the sides) in my living room, but would rather have it in my bedroom because I have to share the tv. There is a monitor in my bedroom, but it is old, and my 360 looks horrible on it. Has anybody done this? (I'm sure) If so, do you run your xbox at 720p, 1080i, or 1080p? The display has a native resolution of 1920 x 1200, what would you recommend?
It should look great on that monitor using HDMI or component. AFAIK it should run at 720p, as that is the normal output of the Xbox 360.
If you have a newer 360 with HDMI, you'll be able to run the 360 natively at 1080p over HDMI with 1:1 pixel mapping on the display. This is the best method as it'll let the 360 handle any kind of scaling. Although saying that I think even the older Xbox would allow you to select 1080p in the component settings but it's very vague over what this actually does, whereas on an HDMI one it does output at full HD.
You should be able to run the 360 at 1080p (1920*1080) and should look very nice indeed. Edit: What K said
