VNC, Remote Desktop and PC Anywhere are the ones that spring to mind (in order of preference). :)

you could user VNC, SSH, telnet, KVM switch, etc. Lots of different kinds of remote access programs. if your using xppro you could use RDP (Terminal Services, kinda)

Remote Desktop (Built into XP/2k3) is far superior to VNC any day.. plus you can get rDesktop client for linux.. (to access your XP/2k3 box) so not sure why others say VNC is better :S

to be honest i'd rather connect to the console than create another session. Maybe that's just me though.

you mean put the hard disk on my main system ?

I Think on this thing all the day and I cant decided !!!

1- put the hard disks ( 3X120GB ) and buy IDE raid card for them on my main system !

2- put them on that server and connect it to my computer !!

I Can't really know what I have to do . Also I will not downloading 24/7 that's why I think on it again , also I worry about the hard disk if they work 24/7 , they burn or damage !

so guys can you help me . BTW : I made a thread about that server and raid card but no one helped me !!! so I hope you help me here !??

    thanks , waiting

when i say connect to the consol this is how VNC works. It is as if you are sitting at the machine, however a RDC connects to a session, and consequently is not what you would see if you connected a monitor to the machine.

Generally I find it better to work in a console environment. That's just what I was saying.

unfortunately in our office no one else does that. which is a bugger. and so changes to systems don't always stick.

Another possible solution, is have 2 monitors one for downloading and one for main pc, then use synergy to use the mouse on both. Current setup I have and its good.

may not work in your situation, just thought id mention it
