    im sorry if it is in the wrong place, i didnt know where to put it
    ok, i am making a design for my pc in sketchup and i was wondering how i can create a shape on a surface what is curved in two directions.

    is any one could help it would be great, if you need pics i can upload tomorrow. Also i could send you the file (if i knew how)

    To make a shape on a spherical object. (assuming sphere) draw your shape either inside or outside and extrude it through the sphere.
    Note I'm using Rhino, but the way sketchup works should be the same. I recall some tutorial doing just that.

    If anything else post a pic.

    right,

    this is what i am trying to do

    and this is where i am at with the drawing.

    it is the curved bit around the hole i am strugling with as it will not do the follow me around the oval as it is flat and the surface is curved

    ok ive extruded the shape through the surface and intercected it with model,
    but when i drag the curve around with follow me it leaves a little bit =[

    after youve extruded it and intersected it, delete the object that you extruded this should leave you with a nice hole through the model, which is what i think your looking for.
