i think this may be sort of a dumb question...but here it goes....ive got a dell inspiron 5160 it has a p4 mobile 3.2ghz it only has 768mb ram...i know i need to upgrade the ram...but im looking at purchasing a new lappy it has a amd TL60 proc which is dual core 2.0ghz i believe...3gb ram....i know the one im looking at will be faster becasue it has more ram...but processor wise is it better than the p4 mobile 3.2ghz....i tried looking at a few charts but none seemed to show the same processors or even did the same bencmark tests.....thanks ahead guys

The TL60 is going to be quicker than the P4 mobile, and by quite a way.

thanks....i knew it would be faster since it is newer and it was dual core....but by numbers it didnt seem like it would...so i guess i spend the 600 to get the new laptop, rather than spend 100 on 2 gigs of ram...thanks lambo

The AMD Turion X2s are built on a much more efficient architecture then the Pentium 4s, so the lower clock-speed is offset by that, as well as the TL-60 having 2 cores compared to the Pentium 4's single core.
