Hello, I am having issues since installing Crysis 2. When i first installed and played Crysis 2 it caused problems such as shut downs when in games and graphics drivers stop responding, this caused me to reformat. After reformatting everything was running well such as Counter Strike Source but I reinstalled and played Crysis 2 this again led to crashes when in games (all games) these crashes started with a random restart without warning, now sometimes the graphics drivers stop responding or the screen will turn a solid colour that most the pixels were eg. looking at the sky = blue screen before the computer restarts its self once i have seen an error on the restart which simply said "windows has encountered an error". I have tried reinstalling graphics drivers and direct x. Also uninstalled Crysis 2 and any related files i can find. I am not looking for a fix for Crysis 2 just a fix for the crashes without reformatting again. Im running: i7 920 @ 3.6GHz P6T deluxe v2 6GB RAM Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 719MHz (9-9-9-24) - apparently GTX 570 FSP 700 Watt PSU Windows 7 64bit Thanks for reading and for any input.
Does Crysis 2 come with it's own version of DirectX? Have you tried getting the latest DirectX from the Microsoft website?
That's the one I've already got installed according to the installer. Here is my DxDiag if helpful https://docs.google.com/document/d/...wAUMUlQ-8769M/edit?hl=en_GB&authkey=CMPw_OUI#
So it didn't install itself over the previous DX? What else was installed during the Crysis 2 installation?
I've installed a different game from steam which installed over the Crysis 2 files so I might ave fixed it.
